Contact us
If you have a route you love that meets the criteria listed below then please send us a map of the route that we can follow (Strava, plot a route, draw over google maps etc.). Tell us what type of running it is best for, why you like the route, and the best local coffee spot and we will do our best to test it out. Once we have tried it, if it does meet our criteria we will add it to the website!
If you are unsure if it meets all the criteria but it does meet some, send it anyway. The purpose of the criteria is more to filter out routes that do not classify as ‘Scotland’s best runs’, as we will test out each route before we add it so want to know it has potential before we make the effort to travel there.

Criteria
- SAME START/FINISH – The route must start and finish in the same place. Routes like bike paths, old railway paths, and canal towpaths are the exception as these can be mapped as point-to-point with the added info that it is an out and back route.
- GOOD PATHS – The route should follow clear paths as much as possible. Avoid or minimise any pathless sections. Grass fields or tracks for sessions/recovery runs would be an exception to this.
- FIT FOR PURPOSE – The route should be good for its intended purpose. Easy and hilly runs should primarily involve off-road paths in nice locations. Session locations may not be scenic or off-road but should be good for running fast – minimal traffic and good surfaces.
