The landscape of the Scottish Borders as it is a criminally under-visited part of the country for those who love exploring the countryside. Here find all the best routes, tops, and viewpoints I have found and consider worth exploring on the major prominent hills of the Scottish Borders.
These will differ slightly from the running routes for a couple of reasons. Firstly, quality of path is less important when walking compared to running so I do not see the need to prescribe the exact path that should be taken. Secondly, I hope these are read and used as a tool to create your own routes that take in the elements that sound most interesting to you. Read my recommendations, grab a map, and find fulfilment in devising your own route rather than following someone else’s.
