local coffee fix

There are no end of good coffee shops so head to whichever you know of. Of those I have been to, Cult does good coffee and food and has some cool lego models on display if you’re a fan of that. The Milkman is also a picturesque cafe with good coffee, though be warned, it is an influencer hotspot.

Route details

This route starts from the car park by Holyrood palace and follows the bigger paths up and down. I have no doubt someone from Carnethy will bemoan this route choice and let me know there are far better ways up, but this keeps it simple and probably has the more runnable path. If you aren’t keen on exploring new routes on a run but want to practice then this would be a great chance to try. Follow any of the many paths and make it up as you go, you are unlikely to get lost here, just be careful of some steep drops in places.
