Route details

Park at the end of Glen Road. There is a large free car park by the river in town but this will add nearly 2 miles to the route. Pick up the Cross Borders Drove Road and follow the high ridge around Glensax, or the Gypsy Glen, on a great track as you climb. The navigation in simple as you climb to Birkscairn hill. Continue over Birkscairn and drop down into Glensax on an ATV track.

Once down at the track through the glen just follow it back to the start. This route is a better alternative to the full horseshoe for those not so keen on venturing towards fell running territory. You will miss some views towards the Manor and Moffat Hills but the scenery is still brilliant on a good day.
