Route details
Park high up Dollar glen by Castle Campbell and follow the track north east up through the glen towards Glendevon. If you were after a shorter route you could ignore this section and head north straight up Whitewisp hill, to pick up the second half of the route.
Once at Glendevon follow the path south west up to Innerdownie hill, the path steepens here after a nice 3 mile warm up. Continue along this path as it gently rolls towards Whitewisp hill, the going from here could get wet or boggy in places if there has been rain but it is still runnable.
Turn west and follow the path around the cleft (or cleuch for the purists) before heading south and aiming for the summit of King’s Seat hill, a fantastic viewpoint which was once the site of an RAF crash, there is a memorial on the way down. There is a more direct route from Whitewisp to King’s seat that is a perfectly reasonable option, but it is much steeper and would involve more powerhiking than the route given above.
From the summit of King’s Seat the route drops steeply down to Castle Campbell.
