Route details

Park in Kelso or in a small lay-by at the southern end, just off the main road north of Jedburgh. If starting from the charming market town centre in Kelso then head south east over the large bridge over the Tweed, passing Kelso Abbey en-route. Here you have a stiff climb up the Jedburgh Road. After a mile you reach the start of the railway and the path is good all the way to Nisbett.

From Nisbett head south and cross the Teviot and go over the style to follow a slightly rougher path along the riverside to the small lay-by mentioned earlier.

If you want more of a loop rather than an out and back, then the country lanes just south of Roxburgh make for nice running. Alternatively, you can return to Kelso from Roxburgh following the Teviot but this path is narrow and twisty so not as pleasant as the railway path.

There is also a Parkrun along the railway from Kelso.
