Route details
Parking down by the leisure centre right by this route. This whole loop is fairly quiet most of the time but is on road so be careful and beware of traffic, through there is a pavement most of the way.
The long straight in the middle is wonderfully smooth tarmac and the best bit of the loop for going fast, provided no head wind, but only 900m long before any corners and junctions. The loop at the north end is just under a mile so if looking for something longer then that is best, or combine with the long straight and get a 2 mile loop.
The southern loop is a little busier, has more corners, and the tarmac is not as good but it is still fine for tempo running. If doing a long tempo run and you have daylight then at the north end pick up the A7 and join up this route with the Old Tweed Bridge tempo loop to make a roughly 7 mile loop.
