Slow down and find hidden gems and Scenic viewpoints with these routes
These are a collection of my favourites routes in Scotland that I would prefer to walk rather than run. Usually because the terrain is rough or pathless, as I go in search of hidden gems and brilliant viewpoints.
I will document my favourite routes on the major prominent hills of Scotland in a bid to promote exploration and finding one’s own route to the summit. Not only does this increase the enjoyment, but it also reduces the burden of concentrated footfall on many of our most popular hills.
Inspired by Wainwright’s lists of favourite fells I have also begun compiling a list of all my favourite tops in my favourite regions of the country. I have named these Cyril’s, after my Grandad, and these are all tops of notable scenery (TONS if you will). No height requirements, and very minimal prominence needed, they must simply meet my own subjective opinion of a scenic top worth visiting in an upland area.
